What Is Meccha Chameleon?
Meccha Chameleon (also known as Super Chameleon / 超级变色龙) is an asymmetric multiplayer party game developed by Japanese indie studio LEMORION. Released on June 10, 2026, it became an instant viral hit — passing 5 million copies in sales by June 19 and repeatedly ranking near the top of Steam's player charts.
The game's unique twist: instead of pre-made hiding spots, you paint your own camouflage. Using an in-game drawing tool, players color their character to match walls, floors, objects, or anything in the environment. The better you blend in, the harder you are to find.
Paint to Hide
Use built-in drawing tools to color your character and blend seamlessly into any surface or object.
Seek & Find
As a seeker, scan the environment carefully to spot cleverly disguised players before time runs out.

Hiding Spot of the Day
A fresh spot every day to surprise your friends.
Inside the Painting Frame — Mansion Map
Position yourself flat against the large painting in the Mansion's main hall. Match the frame's dark wood grain and gold trim. Seekers walk right past it because the frame is above eye level.
Pro-Level Advice in 30 Seconds
6 tips that will instantly improve your game.
Sample Multiple Spots
Lighting varies across surfaces. Sample 3-4 colors and blend them — solid color is a dead giveaway.
Stay Completely Still
Movement is the #1 thing that reveals hiders. Once positioned, don't touch movement keys.
Parallax Is Your Weapon
As a seeker, move sideways to change your view angle. Camouflage that works from one direction often fails from another.
Hide at Eye Level or Above
Most seekers scan at eye level. Shelves, ledges, and ceiling fixtures put you outside their default scan zone.
Avoid Obvious Corners
Corners, behind objects, and dark areas are the first places checked. Hide in plain sight among furniture or decorations.
Face Your Best Side Forward
Rotate so seekers see your best-painted angle. The front-facing view is what they'll judge.
Don't Make These 8 Rookie Mistakes
Common errors that get you caught in the first 30 seconds — and what to do instead.
How Does It Compare to Similar Games?
Meccha Chameleon vs. other hide-and-seek and party games.
Meccha Chameleon
Paint your own camouflage. Active hide-and-seek with creative freedom. 2-24 players. New sensation of 2026.
Prop Hunt (GMod)
Transform into map objects. Classic hide-and-seek mod. Requires Garry's Mod. Larger player base, but less painting creativity.
Witch It
Hide as props in fantasy villages. Witches hunt villagers with potatoes. More polished but less painting depth.
Among Us
Social deduction with tasks and sabotage. Not physical hiding — deceptive lying game. Cross-platform mobile + PC.
Midnight Ghost Hunt
Ghosts hide in objects, then haunt at midnight. Asymmetric PvP with phase-shifting gameplay. Spookier aesthetic.
Unspottable
Blend into crowds of identical AI robots. Punch others without being spotted. Couch co-op party game.
